Saturday’s very successful Caterham Carnival was opened by Brain Perkins,
Tandridge Council Chairman and his wife Sonia, Sonia Hunt the Town Crier and
Caterham’s May Queen Tianna Moon. East Surrey’s M.P. Sam Gimyah was also
in attendance.
The crowd were entertained by the Essex Dog Dispaly team in the arena plus other
local groups , Professor Crump was there and also the deStafford steel pan ensemble.
Martin Vaux Chairman of the Carnival said “ I was delighted yet again with the excellent
attendance for this years Carnival, in excess I would say of 4000. We were very
fortunate with the weather , which helped to create a wonderful feel good factor on the day!
The procession was magnificent this year , enhanced by the wonderful costumes made by
local schools with the help of people from the Arc .“
Julia Shayler , from Waitrose in Caterham , judged the floats this year.

Highly commended going to Warlingham May Queen and First Caterham Scouts
The winner of the Lucky Programme draw was Matt Howson
In the Grand Draw first prize of £250 Waitrose vouchers was won by Ian Garwood
2nd prize of £120 cash donated by Tesco was won by Gwen Rosher and third prize
a meal for 2 at The Village Inn was won by Mrs Y Dalton of Warlingham.
In the dog show The Best Condition Dog was judged to be SNOOPY owned by Diane Nye,
Best Condition bitch was COLA owned by Niamh Fletcher of Essendene Road and
The Dog the Judge would most like to take home was DAVE owned by Lisa Stewart of
Farningham Road .
